Derek Tran
Derek Tran is a second generation Vietnamese-American who grew up in Morgan Hill, California. He is a student at UC San Diego studying general Political Science. He is highly interested in studying political methods to increase civic engagement within his community, and ultimately pursue a career as either a politician or a lawyer.
Jesse Kapukui
Jesse Kapukui (he/him) is a third-generation Hawaiian-American who grew up in Santa Rosa, California. In the Spring of 2022, he graduated from UC Santa Cruz after studying Literature. His desire to become a community college educator is deeply informed by the mentorship and support he received from the higher education teachers who invested in his holistic growth; and who connected him with the theoretical and creative tools needed to advocate for his needs and make meaningful connections.
Elyssa Acob
Elyssa Acob is a second-generation Filipino-American who grew up in Union City in the East Bay Area. She is currently a student at UC Irvine studying Public Health Policy. She is passionate about the topic of decreasing health inequities in underrepresented communities.
Egan Lai
Egan Lai is a second-generation Taiwanese American who grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is studying Political Science, Economics, and Asian American Studies at UC San Diego. He is interested in international relations and education, hoping to work in diplomacy or teach in the future.
Paris Wu
Paris Wu is a first generation Chinese-American who grew up in Vacaville, CA. She is a student at UC Santa Barbara, double-majoring in Sociology and Asian American Studies with a minor in Applied Psychology. She is interested in the intersections between race and gender in various social interactions, particularly in the Asian American community, and how that impacts identity.
Arman Ahmed
Arman Ahmed is a second generation South Asian-American who grew up in San Jose, California. He is a graduate in Political Science from Santa Clara University. He is highly interested in studying the ongoing housing crisis and its solutions in order to provide answers to a perpetual issue.
